June 09, 2002, 10AM. Pyramid Mountain offers a relatively easy hike, with only one steep spot. As chance would have it, it was this spot where the rhododendrons were full bloom, and I ended balancing on one foot, strething towards the flowers and shooting away. I was breaking in my new hiking shoes, which have much less traction than my old ones, and wasn't comfortable, but I prevailed.
